INSPIRATION

My inspiration for the characters came about from the stereotypes a lot of people have of 'CHAVS' which are . . . .

Having grown up next to a council estate for the majority of my life i understood why people made these judgements and how they had come about in the first place.

I didnt really have any insipation for the style of the cartoons i have produced even though people would argue that everything is inspired by something, it is a style i like to think i have created myself over many years of drawing cartoons in my spare time and my main focus for most of the drawings would be the face as I would often draw charicatures of class mates and teachers whilst at school (which got me into trouble quite a lot even though i saw it as harmless fun). Mabey i have been inspired by cartoons such as The Simpsons and Dennis the Menace along with other Beano characters as these where cartoons and comics i enjoyed, this would explain the beady eyes and skin tones I have used for the characters.

Walking

Getting my main character walking has been a right pain in the arse, why? I dont really know bacause once i finally acheived it I realised that it is really simple. The walk cycle I have created is quite simple its just three sketches which are then repeated in reverse order. I had looked at various tutorials on the internet a lot of which were from american sites with various flash tutorials which seemed to confuse me even more for some reason. Now i have learned how to do it i am confident that I could create a better walk cycle for a character than the one for my game which looks ok but i know could be better but is not bad for a first attempt.

CHOSEN FONT - ANTISOCIAL

THIS IS THE FONT I HAVE CHOSEN TO USE THROUGHOUT THE GAME. I LIKE THIS FONT AND THINK IT WORKS WELL BECAUSE IT LOOKS EFFORTLESS AND QUITE SCRUFFY AND DIRTY AND IS ACTUALLY ANTI SOCIAL BECAUSE THE SPACE INSIDE THE LETTERS *(B,D,E,G,O,P AND Q) IS FILLED UNLIKE STANDARD EVERYDAY FONTS WHICH ARE CLEAN AND EASY ON THE EYE.
